Hi everyone, welcome to our website!

We hope you enjoy your time with us in this virtual space. There are dark messages here from the real world of claiming Universal Credit, but we are all here to turn this negativity into a positive by using our experiences to try to create change, however big or small. It's safe to say that this project has been emotional for all of us in one way or another. But it's also been a space for making friends, to be creative and learn together. It's been a bit of an experiment as none of us (neither the organising team nor the CREATIVES) have done anything like it before!

Because of this, we'll be using this Blog to share our own experiences of this project, so you'll be hearing from some of our co-producers and CREATIVES along the way. We'll also use this blog to shout about our up coming in-person events that we are in the process of planning... so watch this space. There's nothing like seeing art work in the flesh so we'd love you to come along to see our work and chat to us. We want to use art to get across important messages about how the social security system isn't working for so many people and how it could be improved. In our events, we'll also be talking more and more about the important research that is behind this project.

Part of this project is about re-imagining a better social security system. So our next steps of this project are doing just that. We're putting our heads together to create a Manifesto which is the culmination of our own and other voices in the research behind this project. We'll be posting our Manifesto soon, and taking it with us as we tour our exhibition.

We look forward to sharing more with you as we do our best to have an impact on UC policies and practices, both locally in the North East, and nationally.
